Executive Team

Chris Orr – Owner / Managing Director

Chris has over 19 years experience in the sports marketing and management industry through working in various professional sporting organisations within Australia and the UK, before establishing his own sports management company.

Over the years he has continue to developed his professional skills in contract negotiations / athlete management / sports marketing and event management.

After fulfilling a seven year career in the professional ranks of rugby league (Cronulla Sharks, Gold Coast Chargers and Super League Giants), he completed his education within the sport and business fields to commence a career in the sports management industry.

It is through his personal experience of working his way up the ranks of professional rugby league that provides a distinct advantage with him assisting clients under his management company achieve their goals of becoming the very best they can be in their chosen field.

Chris is happily married to wife Tracey, with his beautiful children Ky and Sienna. Family is a real focus for him and it is their support which has assisted him be successful both in his sporting career and professional career.

Gavin Orr – Owner / Director of Sport

In 1999 Gavin resigned from the Reebok Corporation to start his own sports Management Company with his brother Chris from scratch.

As the company’s Director of Sport, Gavin’s main role is the identification of athletes coming into the company, as well as the day to day welfares issues of the athlete the company represents. He has identified and recruited some of the greatest athletes in the game of rugby league and assisted superstars of other sports reach elite levels.

Gavin has also done the hours in the game both as a player for the Cronulla Sharks 1987-90 and the Roosters 1991-94 and now as a sports agent, he is well and truly able to give advice on the aspects of sports management and what it takes to become an NRL player today.

The support he has received from his wife Dearne and children Kalarni and Tyla-Belle has been instrumental in his success of establishing PSM which is currently regarded as one of the top 3 rugby league management companies in the world.

Tracey Orr – Chief Financial & Operations Officer (CFOO)

With over 25 years business experience and an exemplary work ethic, Tracey brings knowledge, loyalty, integrity and professionalism to PSM.

Tracey’s professional experience prior to joining PSM is in finance, sales, conferencing and PR within the hotel and hospitality industry, together with her knowledge of Rugby League, Sports Management, her strong family values and her greatest achievement: being a mother of two beautiful, athletic, happy teenagers makes her the perfect CFOO for PSM.

Being a country girl, who was born and raised in Mudgee NSW, family means everything to Tracey. It was in the country where she also met and married her childhood sweetheart Chris Orr. Married 21 years, Tracey has been by Chris’s side for the past 28 years where she has experienced first hand Chris’s trials, tribulations and journey from School Boys Representative Football through to becoming a Professional Rugby League player in Australia and in the Super League in the UK. However it was the next phase of Chris’s professional career that was the most challenging, being there to support Chris and brother Gavin as they established Pacific Sports Management, whilst still pursuing her professional career.

It is Tracey’s professional and personal experience which is invaluable to the PSM team and their clients. She understands what young athletes, their partners and family members go through on an athlete’s sporting journey. It was this wealth of experience which had PSM convince her to join the PSM professional team full-time a number of years ago.

Pro Agent Team/Consultants & Pathways

Tasman Bartlett

Tas has unique skills as a sports agent and financial planner.

Tas was the creator of Starfactor Management before  joining forces with PSM.

Tas holds a Bachelor of Business in Sports Management and a Diploma in Financial Planning where he specialises in wealth creation.

Tas has over 13 years experience as an agent and senior advisor, and during his time has guided many athletes through their playing career on-and-off the field to achieve their goals and financial objectives.

Away from business Tas enjoys traveling and spending time with the people that matter in his life.

George Ghazal

George Ghazal is an NRL Accredited Player Agent and a Secondary PDHPE Teacher with over 25 years’ experience, playing and coaching Rugby League at a Junior and Senior level, both here in Australia and France. His time in Rugby League has not only given him a wealth of industry contacts, but also provided many personal experiences which enable him to provide honest guidance and advice to all his player’s, regarding their careers both on and off the field.

George provides mentoring and guidance to our clients throughout their careers and offers advice and services regarding the negotiation of professional contracts. Pacific Sports Management is fortunate to have George in our team, as he brings a wealth of knowledge in the commitment and process necessary for the development of successful professional athletes.

Caine O’Shea

Caine O’Shea is an NRL Accredited Player Agent based in Auckland, New Zealand. Having both played and coached Rugby League across a junior and senior career, Caine brings a wealth of knowledge to the team and provides PSM with a strong foundation in New Zealand.

Caine started with PSM in 2012 as a scout aiding PSM Director Gavin Orr in recruitment across all of New Zealand, and is now working towards obtaining his accreditation in Rugby Union, having successfully worked in Rugby League for the past 5 years.

Caine covers everything in New Zealand for PSM and with a strong passion for footy and a great work ethic, Caine is a crucial factor in assisting our clients find the right pathway as they continue on their sporting journey with PSM.

Simon Healey

Simon Healey is PSM’s Pathways Program Camp Director. Simon came on board with PSM having worked with the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles in Player Development/Recruitment.

 

 

 

 

Scout/Welfare/Sport Marketing Team

Robert Orr

Robert has joined the Team at PSM, he brings a wealth of experience not only in rugby league but business in general. In rugby league he has participated in the game for over 40 years at all levels.

Robert was a Souths Junior representing Souths in Jersey Flegg and Presidents Cup before switching codes to play for Randwick where he Captained a Sydney Representative Team on tour across Australia. He went on to coach in rugby league and has won 9 premierships enjoying a coaching career of 40 years, in recent years he assisted the mighty South Sydney Rabbitohs with scouting services across the mid west of NSW.

Throughout his life he has taken on different business challenges and become a very successful business man,these businesses varied from sporting organisations to customer services companies. Robert gives PSM a tremendous opportunity to utilise his experience and will only add to the service and welfare of our athletes. His main focus will be to work with the PSM scouts in identifying and unearthing new talent. He will also provide welfare to ensure our clients are properly serviced and there careers progress both on and off the field.

Nancy Papos

Nancy Papos has been in Rugby League for over 15 years dealing with numerous player matter. Nancy has obtained her Certificate of Completion for Mental Health First Aid Course (3rd Edition).

Nancy is a qualified Accredited Lending Manager and has been assisting clients with all their financing needs via various corporate professionals. Nancy is also an Accredited Mortgage Consultant through Mortgage Finance Association of Australia (MFAA), Member of Credit Ombudsman Service Ltd (COSL), holds Certificate of Completion MFAA Anti-Money Laundering/Counter Terrorism Financing E-Learning, Certificate IV in Financial Services, Diploma in Financial Services and also a Justice of the Peace.

Being a mother herself, Nancy is extremely selfless when it comes to providing assistance to PSM clients with regards to their wellbeing. It is her passion for assisting young people reach their potential both on-and-off the field that positions Nancy perfectly as our Welfare Officer.

Josh Traficante

The newest face to the PSM team, Josh has come aboard working in Athlete Scouting/Welfare and Sports Marketing.

Having completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Business (Sports Management), Josh started his PSM journey as an intern under Director Chris Orr – learning the ropes about the business before joining the team full-time in February 2018.

Josh’s passion for sport stems from a background in Rugby League, AFL and American Football, and understands what is required in the modern day athlete and how that role has changed across the last decade.

Josh brings a strong knowledge of marketing to the table having previously worked as a Brand Ambassador for Monster Energy, with further experience in Sports Administration, Customer Service and Sales. Josh is looking forward to working with PSM clients in marketing their brand off the field with a range of different corporate partners.
